John is a member of FutureLaw, L.L.C., a cutting edge law firm headquartered in Richmond, Virginia. His thirty-year professional career includes extensive and successful experience in strategic planning, project development, business planning and start-up, real estate sales and mergers and acquisitions. He has held executive positions with and served as a consultant to organizations ranging from physician practices to private equity groups to global non-profits.

John is a real estate broker and holds licenses in Virginia, North Carolina and West Virginia. He represents corporate for-profit and non-profit clients and private, closely-held entities in the acquisition and disposition of real estate and business assets. His real estate work has included the purchase, sale and leasing of land, office, retail, industrial, flex/tech, institutional, historic and other properties. John’s work in the mergers and acquisitions sector involves upper Main Street to lower middle market companies and has included work in industries such as healthcare, fitness/recreation, retail, wholesale, construction and hospitality. The majority of his work is healthcare-related.

John holds a BA in business administration and an MA in sports science. He is a member of the FutureLaw Commercial Real Estate, Real Estate Workout, and Tax Exempt Financing Teams.

Sarah D. Dicks is a government affairs and land use consultant with a Master's Degree in Planning. Sarah spent 12 years in state government working on a variety of governmental issues before the Virginia General Assembly prior to joining FutureLaw in 2001. Sarah has substantial experience in the state legislative and regulatory process and assists clients in lobbying issues primarily in the Legislature. Sarah also uses her planning expertise and creative skills in the zoning and development practice of the firm to enhance the likelihood of success of development proposals.
