Futurelaw - Tax Exempt Bond Financing

When faced with the prospect of a business or real estate-related dispute, the best choice is a lawyer with expertise and many years of experience in business and real estate matters, as well as in litigation.  The FutureLaw Litigation Team is headed by Jerry C. Booth Jr., who has a great deal of experience in commercial litigation, with particular expertise in real estate-related litigation.  It is rare to find attorneys who understand the complexities of real estate law and who are also knowledgeable litigators.

Mr. Booth has nearly 20 years of experience in all aspects of real estate law in Virginia.  Jerry began his career as in-house counsel for a national title insurer where he assisted attorneys and lay settlement companies statewide to resolve a wide array of legal issues.  His work allowed many difficult transactions to proceed to closing.  Jerry then spent 10 years as claims counsel for a national title insurer where he worked almost exclusively in the resolution or litigation of real estate related disputes.  Jerry has successfully overseen or handled thousands of such disputes over the years, ranging from multi-million dollar construction disputes, mortgage and other fraud, boundary disputes, easement issues, and attorney malpractice and defalcations.  When Jerry joined FutureLaw in early 2009, he brought extensive experience in real estate matters and, unlike most transactional lawyers, the ability to resolve disputes, including through litigation when necessary.

John G. “Chip” Dicks is a member of the FutureLaw Litigation Team.  Mr. Dicks began his career as a criminal defense attorney and later served as a prosecutor.  In private practice, he specialized in civil litigation and real estate.  He has also represented associations and businesses on administrative, legislative and regulatory matters before state government agencies and the General Assembly.  Chip represents owners and developers on a wide variety of land use applications in a number of localities in Virginia, and has extensive experience in landlord/tenant and fair housing law.  As an elected member of the General Assembly in the 1980’s, he has drafted or amended a significant amount of Virginia legislation affecting real estate.  Outside of the practice of law, Chip is an active real estate investor through Capital Realty & Investment Company, and has formed a number of companies that range from technology development to telecommunications.  In addition to his litigation experience, Chip provides his clients a wealth of knowledge and expertise in business and real estate matters.

As the name indicates, FutureLaw is a forward thinking law firm, especially when it comes to our relationships with our clients.  We work with our clients to protect their rights, while doing so at a fair price.  We determine how best to meet a client’s budget, while providing them with high quality legal representation.  Our experience often allows us to predict the demands of a particular case.  In such instances, we can structure a flat fee and/or success fee arrangement so that the uncertainty of the costs of litigation inherent in the traditional “billable hour” system can be eliminated.

The Litigation Team at FutureLaw posesses the rare combination of extensive litigation, business and real estate experience, and seeks the best possible results for our clients when faced with commercial and real estate-related disputes.   If you would like to discuss your legal needs, please contact Jerry Booth at (804) 565-2934 or by e-mail at jbooth@futurelaw.net.
