JOHN G. "CHIP" DICKS

Chip Dicks is a seasoned professional with more than 25 years of experience
in real estate, zoning and land use work. Chip served as an elected member of the Virginia General Assembly during the 1980's and since that time has represented trade associations and business interests before state legislative and regulatory agencies.

On real estate projects, Chip works with clients to identify and refine strategic goals and establish an implementation plan that meets the client's goals and timelines. Chip's creative approaches and his diligence to achieve results for his clients has earned him a reputation of one of the best development lawyers.

In the governmental arena, Chip has become the institutional knowledge on real estate and landlord tenant issues in the Virginia General Assembly. For more than 20 years, Chip has been the principal scribe of the real estate related legislation in Virginia. Chip is well respected on both sides of the political isle for his resource and counsel on real estate and billboard issues.

Chip is a principal and President of Capital Realty & Investment Company, L.L.C., a real estate investment company with investments in raw land, multifamily and office buildings. In that capacity, Chip has been directly involved in development of real estate projects from the ground up to the point of completion and operation, management of major office buildings including making all strategic and purchasing decisions, and implementing complex bond transactions as an exit strategy in the niche of government leased buildings. Chip served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 1983 through 1989 and served as a member of the Virginia Housing Study Commission. Chip has served on numerous charitable and professional capacities over the last 25 years.

Chip was named "Outstanding Young Virginian" by the Virginia Jaycees in 1988 and was awarded the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Methodist College in 1988.
